CRC sent its final comments on the 2021 Comprehensive Plan to the County Commissioners on April 11. The Plan clearly and repeatedly expresses the intent of the County to be an exemplary steward of its natural resources. It recognizes the importance of County watersheds as critical to those natural assets and recognizes their direct contribution to the character and quality of life in QAC. We strongly support the vision and aspirations stated in PlanQAC. Yet, we do not believe that the importance PlanQAC places on these natural resources is matched by guidelines that are strong enough to conserve and preserve them in the face of increasing pressure from development. We offer ways to monitor development so as to understand the costs of development going forward.
The County Commissioners conditionally approved the Plan in their April 26th meeting.
