Heavier and more severe rain storms has led to frequent flooding of water bodies in the Corsica and its watershed; one indication of the impact of a changing climate. (The photo of a dock underwater on our homepage is just one recent instance.) Maryland’s Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has recently released an application that encourages residents to document flooding with photographs. The photographic data is being combined with weather and tidal information to create and provide to residents, businesses, and government agencies a more complete and accurate picture. Called MyCoast, the app also contains daily tide schedules and the location of tidal gauges. For more information and instructions on how to download the app, visit MyCoast.org.
