In 1998, the Corsica River was declared as “impaired” under the Clean Water Act. In 2002, work began on developing a watershed restoration action strategy (WRAS). As part of that strategy, a stakeholders group was created in 2004 to monitor and assist in its implementation. The group was composed of state, county, and town officials as well as environmental groups including the Corsica River Conservancy. That group is still meeting today. It’s periodic meetings are open to the public.
