The Planning Commissioners have released a plan to guide the County’s development for the next 10 years. CRC strongly supports the Plan’s Vision to preserve the County as a quintessential rural community and the guiding principles that emphasize being a good steward by preserving and protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries and by reducing the growth of new residential development in agricultural and rural areas by directing growth to existing communities.
But current developments seriously threaten that vision. Please submit your comments in support of the Vision and ask the County Commissioners to take explicit steps to make sure that it is preserved. Without your voice, an alternate future will include more sprawl, dirty streams and rivers, fewer trees, more floods, uncontrollable traffic, and more expensive services that will have to be paid for.
